The Children of Discord History
A detailed history of the Covenant is in the works, but will take some time. If you are interested in contributing to this
history, please join the Development list.
The Children of Discord formed from the merging of multiple smaller groups in the middle ages. The most known sources were a group of Byzantine vampires in Constantinople and a seperate (but nearly identical) group in Alexandria who claim to have an unbroken tradition since the time of Alexander the Great or before. (Longinians, and the Lancea Sanctum of course, condider this to be blasphemous, as it claims the existance of vampires before the time of Christ.) Other like-minded but diverse groups were brought in due to the Silk Road and the Byzantine Empire's great reach into Asia Minor. The Covenant could have been said to truly exist as an entity by 600 AD.
Characters from the middle ages may be from anywhere in Europe, Africa, or Asia (within historical reason and any restrictions on characters as a whole)
PCs arrived in America by the early 1700s. (If you have a PC you would like to have arrived earlier, please alert the list so that we can take that into account.)
Very modern characters (after 1970s) might be drawn in from the Discordian movement, but this is far from required. Many older covenant members find Discordianism to be trite.
